Why do Americans put soy sauce on their rice in Japanese restaurant?
Hi I’m a native Japanese guy recently moved in the US.
I often see American people put soy sauce on their rice in Japanese restaurant.
Why do you do that? it’s tasty?
That’s not authentic Japanese style. it’s a kind of bad manner in Japan.
FYI, yes, it’s true that we can find soy sauce bottle on a table of many Japanese restaurant.
But it doesn’t mean the restaurant owner put it for rice. It’s for sushi, sashimi, broiled fish and so on.
Actually, we can also find the bottle at many restaurants of JAPAN. But we don’t use it for rice.
I’m not offensive at all, just out of my curiosity.
I personally think it’s OK if you guys feel it’s tasty.
Thanks!
America is addicted to soy sauce.

What’s up ya’ll. My husband and I love the Dallas, Cowboys. We’ve been to Dallas but didn’t have time to explore. We’re hip, late 30′s, love all kinds of music, poetry cafes, sushi, coffee shops & hearty meals, maybe tour new Cowboy stadium, local museums & Bob Marley;hahaha..we want to stay in the city. But want access to all of the things we love to do…where do you suggest we stay and how is downtown Dallas public transportation in case we decide not to rent a car? Any Embassy Suites near all this stuff? Dallas Tours/Guide links to tour the stadium? Dallas tour guides…,
We’ll be visiting in November 2009/
Public transportation is not the greatest in Dallas, I highly recommend the rental car. If you go to the new stadium its quite the drive from downtown. I would recommend staying north of dallas in the Galleria area or even farther north in Addison off beltline is nice and has lots of night life attractions near by.
